Now I can like my own post (perhaps the button shouldn't appear to begin with) yet the like list shows my name.

Possibly because you'd already liked it?

I am still getting the error that Sama posted - pointing to xmlhttp.php and having authorization code mismatch. I used the download link in the first post. Showing up in my plugin list as 1.0.

Extremely odd. I'll have to test further and see why on earth that could be.

Can you both please check your headerinclude templates and tell me if the JS is inserted after the block of code defining my_post_key?

If you mean this:

Code:
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
    var cookieDomain = "{$mybb->settings['cookiedomain']}";
    var cookiePath = "{$mybb->settings['cookiepath']}";
    var cookiePrefix = "{$mybb->settings['cookieprefix']}";
    var deleteevent_confirm = "{$lang->deleteevent_confirm}";
    var removeattach_confirm = "{$lang->removeattach_confirm}";
    var loading_text = '{$lang->ajax_loading}';
    var saving_changes = '{$lang->saving_changes}';
    var use_xmlhttprequest = "{$mybb->settings['use_xmlhttprequest']}";
    var my_post_key = "{$mybb->post_code}";
    var imagepath = "{$theme['imgdir']}";
// -->
</script>

I do not. However, I do have this script:

Code:
<script type="text/javascript" src="{$mybb->settings['bburl']}/jscripts/like_system.js"></script>

It was being defined before my jQuery inclusion, so I moved it - nothing.

Hm. It should be sending the post key along with the AJAX request. Is it using an AJAX request at all or is it acting like a normal link? Could I get a link to your forum + demo account per chance?
